Social SUSTAINABILITY
Schurz Communications Foundation, Inc.
Schurz sponsors a Foundation to aid with capital and endowment campaigns for non-profit organizations in the local community of our corporate office in St. Joseph County, Indiana. In 2024, we will begin expanding the Foundation’s reach to support the communities we serve at our local properties. Most of the Foundation’s efforts focus on the areas of education, the arts, and human services.

Employee Well-Being

We also offer TELUS Health’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and AbilitiCBT to help support employees and their dependents with mental, financial, physical, and emotional well-being. Quarterly, the company offers wellness themed informational webinars. Ensuring our employees have the resources and information they need to support them, and their family’s well-being is a priority.
Talent Development

We offer a variety of training and development opportunities including unlimited access to over 2,000 online courses, personalized leadership training and development, job specific certificate and degree programs, and more.

Schurz Communications, Inc., and its subsidiaries take pride in our robust workforce, comprising over five hundred skilled professionals based in the United States, Romania, and the United Kingdom. Actively managing our operations, we vigilantly monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational efficiency and strive to maintain performance levels consistently above benchmarks. This commitment to excellence has resulted in impressive data points, such as a steady increase in our Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS). Our team collaborates seamlessly to achieve milestones, reflecting our dedication to delivering exceptional results.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The comany sponsors a “Day of Giving” volunteer program is to support our employees’ volunteer activities that enhance and serve the communities in which we live and work, support communities that are impacted by disasters, and/or address issues that impact quality of life. The intention of this program is to create community engagement opportunities for employees that are meaningful, purposeful and help those in need. At the same time, our company recognizes that participating in these activities will also enrich and inspire the lives of our employees. All regular full-time employees are eligible for one day per calendar year of paid volunteer time with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Innovation Funds
Schurz sponsors local innovation funds at multiple subsidiaries to provide investment dollars to local startup companies to support, sustain, and grow businesses in the community. The innovation funds are used for investments in flexible structures allocated across a mix of startups and more established growth companies. Each fund has an Advisory Committee including local business leaders. The Committee will review applications and make the investments. Investment criteria based on viability, potential, growth and return characteristics that would create jobs in the local community and benefit the most from local expertise and the local infrastructure. Consideration is given to women, people of color, people with disabilities, community contributors and members of other minority groups who have met basic investment criteria, as well as businesses that support those groups.
