Mishawaka, Indiana (January 10, 2023) – Schurz Communications, Inc. (“Schurz”) is pleased to announce the promotion of Melissa Lock to the position of Chief of Culture and Talent Development, effective January 1, 2023. In this role, Lock will be responsible for ensuring employees are aligned with the Company’s purpose, vision, and values.
Lock has been with Schurz for 26 years and has excelled in each position she has held. Lock strongly believes in personal growth and development, and she has earned several certifications recognized in the field of Human Resources. Most recently she became a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. Her promotion not only reflects the value she brings to Schurz, but also Schurz’ increased commitment to company culture and the development of key talent.

Lock has served in several roles in our media and broadband divisions and has served the past eight years as the Director of People & Culture for Schurz. Lock plays a critical role in formalizing the way we work, communicate, and how we take care of our employees. She is a trusted advisor to leaders across Schurz. Lock has served as a Director on the Schurz Communications Foundation, Inc. Board since 2021.
Lock lives in Michigan with her husband and teenage daughter. Her son is a student at the University of Indianapolis. She has heart for helping people and loves pointing out the unique value individuals offer.
